We gave away 2 motor cycles, bibles and 8 bicycles donated by our Mississippi Partners . This is all part of the vision to mobilise more of our pastors and leaders within the plus 100 churches planted by Afrika wa Yesu.

Pastor Luís: I am pastor of Macomia wa Yesu  also oversee other churches as regional pastor in many surrounding areas, from 15 to 30 to 40 kilometres away. I walk 21 km twice a week to teach the Word at Liukwe and to counsel people, to evangelise. Inguida is 45 km away an on top of a big mountain! We have a cell group at the administration post which is 39 km away from our home church. There are cell groups in cities like Pemba and Mocimboa da Praia,  200 km away that we need to visit. I also have a vision for Montepuez which is 420km away. I knew that I needed transport. From December first I was fasting and praying… God, I need transport, so that I can take the gospel to the lost. Make a way for me to receive transport, so I can do your work. I didn’t ask anyone for transport, just God. This year, Pastor Armando called me to church in Nampula and to Apostolic Conference, and at church I received my answer to prayer! I received a motorcycle. I know, I know that the hand of God is SO powerful.  Thank you so much for this gift.

Pastor Aquimo from Ribaue:  I am pastor at Liukue wa Yesu and I walk 30km to one side to visit another church and 20km to the other side. It can take about 5 hours to reach the destination. I can go so much faster with my bicycle, and I can spend more time with the people rather than walking to the people and staying only a little time. God had opened many Windows for me, and they are not closing. I was a student at bible school here and won a bicycle as a prize, and yesterday the same window was opened and I received another bicycle!! it’s not hard to ride two bicycles. Jesus always walked with disciples so I can always take someone with me with the other bicycle! Thank you for the blessing. I will honour it because God gave it to me and now I can open new areas for him.

The newly elected mayor came to church! He is from the Mozambique Democratic Movement party. We laid our hands on him and Rod prayed a prayer for wisdom, courage and strength and that great change will come to Mozambique to make life better for the people. It was a privilege.

TO NACALA

After Sunday services we headed on to Nacala, full of anticipation of the good things waiting for us there. Such as, friends Jeff and Nicky, all the AWYesu Nacala Team and of course, Chris and Debs and our three grandchildren.  Gabriel, Ashira and Mikayla have been jumping on one leg in excitement for several days already. Not to forget the Maas sausage dogs, little long brown things inaptly named Tarzan and Jane! Oh yes, and our new two-roomed cottage waiting to be finished but we can already move into the bedroom.. Lots of plans. Plus it overlooks the stunning Nacala Bay.  The drive to Nacala took a lot longer than it should due to a monsoon downpour that blocked visibility ……….

And yet another flat tyre. Yes, the trailer does need to be repainted, it looks rather scrappy due to Rod having removed the rust and painting it with sealer.

Sunshine the parrot was ready to end the two day journey too. Sunshine is a Brazilian Pita parrot belonging to our amazing first born daughter Tammy who has just moved to Uganda. Now that’s going to be a long drive!

Finally at Nacala, Ashira dons the lion suit sent by Tammy and plays with Tarzan and Jane.
